On rpm-ostree I have tree options for boot_location here the files
vmlinuz and initrd will be stored: legacy, both and new. Currently the
default is "both", which duplicate initrd, which is a very huge file
(at least on centos 7) which increases the size of the tree and the
bandwidth usage during the update step due the this bug
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1235936).
Although the built system is centos 7, I am using he fedora 22 atomic
host installer (the iso image) due the lack of ostree support on the
centos one.
Currently I am using this default option because when I try to use
either legacy or new the installer hangs due boot files missing. But I
found no more recent fedora installer which works. The rawhide ones
seem to be broken with me (I filled a bug report on
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1242403), but I believe
someone has already successfully used the option "new" as
boot_location. If yes, I'd like to know which installer this person
has used.
Thanks in advance.
