I'm trying that. However, the link to confirm just takes me to a blank
page after clicking next with the latest FF and Orca 43.0 from the Arch
repos.
Am I meant to get auto subscribed? I put my email in, clicked next, got
the confirm email, and then clicked the link in that and then next, and
nothing after that, nothing about being subscribed or anything at all.
Am I doing something wrong or is it something I'm not aware of with
freelists?

Hey all.
Samuel Thibault has created orca freelists org for us. Thank you, thank
you, thank you! From what he's told me, this should provide us with
more stability than tuxfamily and is not connected with any distro.
Regarding Discourse versus mailing list: I think people should feel
free to discuss whatever they want wherever they want. But perhaps the
thing to do is discuss the accessibility of GNOME apps with the broader
GNOME community on Discourse. Those developers and community members
weren't participating on our list before, and likely won't start doing
so. So if we want them to see something, we need to bring it to
them. Likewise, if one of them needs to bring something to our
attention, they'll probably do so on GNOME infrastructure (Discourse,
Gitlab, etc.). So our keeping an eye out there also makes sense. But
all the end-user, Orca-specific discussion that (I suspect) the broader
GNOME community is not interested in -- especially if it's about MATE
or KDE -- can continue taking place on our mailing list.
Make sense?
If so, you should be able to subscribe via the form on
https://www.freelists.org/list/orca or by sending an email to
orca-request freelists org with 'subscribe' in the Subject. Once we
confirm this works as expected, I'll update the wiki and the Readme,
etc.
Thanks again to Samuel for setting this up, to Didier for getting our
gnome list a temporary extension while we sort things out, to Jean-
Philippe for the tuxfamily alternative (sorry we didn't use it!), Nimer
for the google groups alternative (ditto), Peter for documenting how to
use Discourse, and everyone else for their input and patience while I
wasn't able to deal with this myself. (Hope I'm not forgetting anyone.
It was a huge thread.) Y'all rock!
