It's fine here, but I'm running the Chromium package from Arch Linux, 
not Google chrome.

The only environment variable that I have set is ACCESSIBILITY_ENABLED=1

It is configured in ~/.config/environment.d/local-environment-variables.conf

Note that the name of the configuration file is chosen by you; all files 
in the directory are processed in setting up the environment.
