In the words of Vsevolod Popov:
1. I tried to install gnome, I did that by using the command:
#pacman -S --needed gnome
2. Then, when switching options in lightdm session manager, I noticed
a lot of options related to gnome. 2 times there were repetitions of
gnome, then gnome classic, gnome xorg and gnome wailand.
Which one gets accessibility improovments and which one is better to use?
I tried to use gnome xorg, but when I wanted to assign shortcuts, the
settings dialog didn't seem to be accessible with Orca.
Either one of the GNOME entries or GNOME Xorg should be the correct
session. There have been some reports of the control center not working
well with Orca, but I didn't think that extended as far as the shortcut
settings, so maybe just try GNOME without choosing the Xorg or Wayland
version.
Isn't there anything harmful when using 2 desktop environments on 1
system?
Nothing at all. You simply choose which desktop you want to see from the
menu, just as you did when you selected GNOME Xorg. The system will
default to the last desktop you started, unless you select another from
the menu, for example MATE. Then every time you log in on the system,
you will see MATE until you choose a GNOME option from the session menu
again. Hope this helps.
