Howdy,
Ah ok, so it is a tree like Navigation, not just flat object for object.
Very cool idea. What is that simple mode?
A great enhanced could be announcing the current level on changing it. So you have an better idea how deep you are actually in the tree.

Hi Chrys,
Your post is correct.
The only thing I would add, for the benefit of someone who might not be familiar with object navigation in other screen readers, is that movement is hierarchical (according to the UI structure), rather than geometrical. So control+orca+up moves up a level in the tree, and control+orca+down moves down a level. Control+orca+right and control+orca+left moves to the next or previous sibling of the current object, respectively.
Thanks,
Rynhardt
Howdy Rynhardt,
Great :)! Next i add the settings and translations.
Is my explanation on the blog correct? I don’t want to spread wrong information. I don’t use orca by my own. So its what i understand so far.
Cheers chrys Hi Chrys,
I just installed the plugin and it is working great. Thank you so much for working on this.

Howdy Rynhardt,
i just completed the ObjectNavigation
plugin and you can give an first test.
you can get the plugin file (i wont
attach a file to an mailing list mail) and check the complete
story on my blog:
with another additional stuff.
you can just install it by using the
plugin manager by pressing "orca + e" running the plugin tree.
also its not final yet, cause by
settings and translation interfaces are currently still missing.
but i was busy with other things.
but this is definitive next on my todo
list.
looking for feedback
cheers chrys

Hi Chrys,
Excellent, thank you. I look forward to the plugin
implementation.
Something else I wish to investigate down the line is to
restrict flat review based on the object selected via object
nav. This would possibly result in a more effective flat
review functionality when the screen is too cluttered, for
instance an application or page with sidebars.
But step by step as you say.

Rynhardt
Howdy Rynhardt,
nice to hear from you :). All good, we all have a real
life :).
I hope you are doing well?
Yea all good now. I found the class
I converted your code to an plugin. Let me do some last
cleanups and testing. then you can take a look if you
want.
your functionality looks very neat to me.
two very important pieces are missing in the plugin
system driven orca version. this is a translation API for
the plugins and gsettings based settings.
but step by step ;).

Hi Chrys and Peter,
My apologies for only responding now, I was away
for the festive period and could not attend to this.
I have fixed the repository at the merge request,
sorry about that. The relevant class should now be
included.
I'm currently spending all my time on finishing my
thesis, but I will look into a plugin conversion as
soon as I have some free time again. However, either
of you are of course more than welcome to work on this
if you wish.
Regards,
Rynhardt
Howdy Peter,
Maybe you can send me the working version of the
patch? Or maybe you wanna try to conert it into an
plugin by yourself?
By the way, i keep the plugin branch up to date with
master to have all the latest fixen in (to not have
disadvantages while testing)
Cheers chrys
