Hi,
I've setup a groups.io list for this.
The list address is: accessible-homeassistant groups io
Let's see if anyone joins.
Cheers
Bart

Hi Bart,
I am very interested in a discussion list about Home Assistant usage with a screen reader.
Nice to find some other users, last time I tried to find some screen reader users was with the Android
version of Smart Life but nobody 🙂
Or they all go away after trying to contact Tuya 😅
There is a forum but I am not sure it would be the best place even if I tried to ask for some users in a
topic:
https://community.home-assistant.io/t/using-home-assistant-with-a-screen-reader/269964
I'm going to read the Github issue for unlabelled buttons.
Thanks for all,
Patrick

Hi,
I use homeassistant also.
The issue for unlabeled buttons can be tracked at
https://github.com/home-assistant/frontend/issues/3267
<https://github.com/home-assistant/frontend/issues/3267> it could do
with some input from others.
There appears to be a few screenreader users of HA. Would there be
any interest in setting up a low traffic list to discuss accessibility
issues with HA?
If we all get together perhaps we can help to drive the accessibility
effort forward.
Cheers
Bart

I've done it. It's challenging but doable, though I'd hardly call it
accessible. You basically have to find and memorize buttons since none
are labelled.
Despite the inaccessibility of the web UI, the platform itself is
pretty solid. There's a CLI that lets you do most of what the web
interface does, and given that it's API-driven, missing functionality
can be added. I'd recommend giving that a try.

Hello,
Are there some people here who use HomeAssistant
(https://www.home-assistant.io/ <https://www.home-assistant.io/>)
to control their smart home devices?
If yes, are there some tips to be able to use it with Orca to
control devices and configure?
On their GitHub they have created an "Accessibility" tag but I
still have not found any documentation about using HomeAssistant
with a screen reader.
Best regards,
