With pulseaudio it can be done as well.


In simple words you have to create a null sink. You will then configure whatewer you wish to record including the microphone and speech-dispatcher to output to that null sink and to your original default device at the same time.

Then you will configure your recording app or streaming app whatewer to use monitor of that null sink as its recording source.
