Re: [orca-list] Changing the variant of eSpeak NG in linux

Hello,

I can normally switch Espeak variants. I have Debian 10 Buster. Try to edit the file /etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/espeak-ng.conf and edit espeak listvoice variants =0 give to 1 and you will see Espeak variants and you can switch them too. It works on Hypra too.

Best regards

Vojta.

OK. as I thought.

u need 0.10+ version of speech-dispatcher to switch espeak variants.

unfortunately it is not available in backports repo. 🙁

so i think your only available option is switch to debian bullseye.

p.s. that's why i use ArchLinux. 😉

Hello everyone,

I am currently using the latest debian 10.5 and I have a question. Is it possible to change a variant of eSpeak NG in orca?

In orca voices preferences I can find only a possibility to change the language of the synthesizer but not the variant.

What should i do for changing it and how can I know what variant is used by default?

Thank you in advance!
