Re: [orca-list] orca responding slowly when opening large folders in thunderbird.

Hello guys
I have suffered this issue, and waiting for Mozilla when could fix this.
However, in the mean while, if you could try for example Thunderbird
60.9.0
It gives some warning error with selection-changed events that magically
improve performance a lot with a big inbox with Orca.
The error that Thunderbird shows is as follow:
(thunderbird:629978): GLib-GObject-.[1;33mWARNING.[0m **: .[34m00:01:31.002.[0m:
../../../gobject/gsignal.c:3599: signal name 'selection_changed' is invalid for instance '0x7fe128738110' of
type 'MaiAtkType3'
I have noticed that when Thunderbird has this error, things work better
from Orca side.
I have downloaded 60.9.0 from
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/60.9.0/

HTH,
Regards
   Javier

Yes, it is. Thanks.

Question, Did anyone ever file a bug against Thunderbird for this one?

This is probably this issue

The only ways to make it fixed are in my opinion:

  * Fix it yourself on Thunderbird
  * Raise money and pay someone to fix it
  * Find someone with a lot of spare time to figure out this

For the raise money part and if you are interested in I'm looking at
raising money to figure out accessibility bugs. We could discuss about it.

Best regards.

Hi all.

I seem to have some vague memories of something like this being
discussed a while back.

If you have large mail folders in thunderbird orca will stop
responding for a while if you attempt to open the folder.

I know this was an issue on 3.2.8 and am wondering if it's still an
issue?

I would test it out myself but don't currently have a linux box set
up so can't.

The reason this comes up is because of this thunderbird bug, and i'm
wondering if this has the same root cause?

I'd appreciate some comments.

Thanks.
