ok now i understand. so then it’s not a problem for me to switch
the layout in the settings.
For the reason mentioned by José, it's easier for people with a full keyboard to switch to desktop mode than for people without an insert key. People without an insert should have to know "orca -s" to switch to laptop mode.
I'd prefer to not ask users to type a command-line for their first meeting with Orca on Linux.
