Hello,
These are three Gmail bugs. One in Firefox, one in Chrome, and one in both.
- In Firefox, backspacing text while in a bulleted list is not spoken. To repro, do the following:
- Enable Orca.
- In Firefox, navigate to gmail.com and compose a new message.
- Tab to the body field.
- Press ctrl+shift+8 to create a bulleted list and begin typing characters into the list.
- Press backspace and observe what is spoken.
- Expected: The erased character should be verbalized.
- Actual: Nothing is verbalized.
- In Chrome, Pressing ? in Gmail to bring up a list of keyboard shortcuts causes Orca to go crazy!!!
- Open Chrome Dev and navigate to Gmail.
- Turn focus mode on.
- Press ? to bring up a list of keyboard shortcuts.
- Go into browse mode and try to read the contents with down arrow.
- Try to press ctrl to stop Orca from reading.
- I can read the content of the keyboard shortcuts list as I wish, with arrow keys or with table reading commands.
- Actual: Orca won't stop talking.
- In Chrome or Firefox, if focus is at the end of the line, the second lline in a list is not read out when using up/down arrow keys. To repro, do the following:
- Open Chrome or Firefox.
- Navigate to gmail.com and compose a new message.
- Tab to the body.
- Create a bulletted list by pressing ctrl+shift+8
- Type a bunch of text into the list so that text wraps onto at least two lines.
- Press up arrow to read the prior line in the list.
- Press down arrow to read the next line. Note that if it speaks, make sure to press the end key to go to the end of the line, press up arrow, and down to try again.
- Expected: No matter the cursor position, the content of the line is spoken when using up or down arrow keys.
- The content of the second line in the list is not spoken if focus is not at the beginning of the line.
