Re: [orca-list] orca with xfce in devuan

The problem with all debian graphical installations for those of us who
cannot see the screen at all is we need to be able to adjust
accessibility for the graphical interface in the console without
complaints about missing dbus or displays! It turns out I may be the
only one in my County using Linux of any flavor so people that can see
will be limited in effectiveness. Fortunately next week I have a linux
using friend from another county visiting so I expect I'll be able to
get mate up and running on devuan and squared away before both of us
leave to help another blind friend living in Georgia with his computer
and linux installation. Slint is better in this respect since I was
able to get to the graphical environment independently and I got xfce
running and xfce runs I think faster than mate. It's easy to switch
desktop environments in slint too so my most recent try was with lxde
which also works in Slint.

I recommend you The following professionally composited Wiki article.

https://wiki.debian.org/Accessibility/Orca

If it will not work, try to debate with The XFCE developers. By The way,
those techniques could become The part of The code, which run when user type
orca -setup
Why The code for this purpose, could not become The part of Orca source
code?
The similar routine could be incorporated to Orca if user would run it from
LXDE.

I can not help my self. But The fastest responsiveness and The best
accessibility is now for Mate desktop.
But every one has A free dom to try desktop according to his tastes.
