Joanie,

I just tried both spd-say tests, and heard "autogen dot sh dot" for both 
of them. I'm running espeak-ng 1.50,  and speech-dispatcher 0.9.1 if 
that helps narrow it a little. I don't have any other synthesizers 
installed.

It's not a showstopper, just a little strange.
