[orca-list] Getting speakup working in the console

Hi,


I am running the "Accessible Coconut" rebuild of Ubuntu 18.04 on my HP 
Laptop, sometimes the sound in my GUI completely  dies, and it needs to 
get fixed.


The software I want to use to do the fixing is called sam "Speech 
friendly Alsamixer". Unfortunately it doesn't work correctly except from 
the TTY consoles. Thus my question, is there a way to get speakup to 
work threw alsa without killing pulse?
