I'm afraid I'm not able to reproduce that issue. I assume that on the 
General page of the preferences dialog you have "Desktop" selected as 
your keyboard layout? In addition, on the Key Bindings page, you have 
selected the Modifier Keys which match your preferred Insert key(s)?
