That's true, but you can easily switch from a graphical environment to a
console (for example, Ctrl-Alt-F2 switches to the second console).
Their availability depends on which distribution and version you use.
That's also correct. Fenrir is the newest, and probably where I would
suggest starting if you wish to install one.
