No, I do not miss understand you, but you cannot do it the way you wrote below. You configure orca to automatically start when your x session starts and you can configure firefox to start automatically to in some x configuration file.
You can also set your DISPLAY variable
e.g.
$esport DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
Then, if you already have an x session running and you run a program from the $ prompt in a console, the program will start up in your x session.

You could configure your x session to start some programs when it starts
up.
you can configure your linux not to start the gui by default.
How to do this exactly differs among distributions of linux.
