what would i need to do to enable brltty?
something as simple as
systemctl enable brltty?

I would suggest getting BRLTTY, Speakup or Fenrir working first. I just
installed Arch Linux myself recently, and I had no difficulty in having
Orca run.

If you log in as root, you can run

systemctl start sshd

and optionally:

systemctl enable sshd

to have sshd started. (The enable command starts sshd by default when
the system is booted.)

Hello,

By the way plain Arch linux has no issues with orca.

On my laptop I am running orca-git however I have tried to run orca
from the extra repo today to verify this is all okay.

Unfortunatelly I haven't tried Antergos so far.

Greetings

Peter

hell, if ssh was enabled on the system I would be able to access it,
if i were to install antergos to a vm,
and ssh was enabled I would have access.

Hi there,

the latest iso, which has Orca is 17.06, but at this time, it can
not be
installed. From 17.07, Orca isn't included in live full iso, so
someone
must install it for you. When add accessibility packages is checked in
the installer, it installs brltty-minimal, speech-dispatcher, espeak
and
Orca. But the latest iso downloaded all, installed all, but Orca isn't
working under Mate and something else is broken, because I can not
open
any folder using Caja, so I'll try download the latest iso with
torrent
and install it again. Sometimes, Orca can be installed under the
latest
iso, but sometimes only, and I don't know why sometimes sudo pacman -S
orca under live works, sometimes not.

Jude, when I snagged the latest refresh and went into the live
image,
it
didn't have Orca on it. Did I get a bad download or did I get the
wrong
ISO? I
went for the full ISO (not the minimal one), and fired up the live
environment, tried super+alt+s and nada. Did I do anything wrong
when I
downloaded it last week?

I have installed antergos and got it talking too.  Important
thing is
to
do integrity verification on iso and install image before anything
else.

I've never heard of Antergos. Perhaps start with a distribution
that
is
known
to have good support for accessibility, become familiar with
that,
and
progress from there.
