Re: [orca-list] Skype, google-chrome, chromevox, and orca.

You can apparently use Skype Web on Firefox if you set the correct user-agent string. If you search for the web.skype.com Firefox extension, it claims to handle that for you whenever you visit the site.

I have no personal experience with this extension beyond noting that it makes web.skype.com's "unsupported" error message go away, so other than noting that, I can't help you further.

Good luck.

Greetings,

I am a user of ubuntu-18.04. I must take a job interview via skype in
exactly one month. I have been trying to get skype working but with no
success thus far. At the moment, I am totally lost and would
appreciate ANY detailed help. I tried installing the latest version of
skypeforlinux, but orca stops speaking from the very first screen. I
tried using skype from the website but was informed that firefox is
not a supported browser. So I installed the latest .deb file of
google-chrome (as searches seem to yield that chromium would not be
optimal) and discovered again that orca does not automatically work
with google-chrome. Now I would like to install chromevox, but I have
found no clear-cut and recent directions on how to do this. And do I
understand correctly that chromevox, once installed, is supposed to
work in tandem with orca? Again, any help would be MOST appreciated!

Thank you very much.
