Wondering
if anyone out there has done something like this? I'd like to make
a screencast where I capture both computer audio and my voice from
a mic. Essentially, I want my full computer audio stream mixed
with my mic input and alongside video of my screen. I don't want a
recording of my computer audio through the external mic, since I
want to capture full stereo.
I thought about using pulseaudio to do some sort of monitoring
setup, which would send my audio back through the speakers and
thus mix it into the output. I can probably avoid feedback with
headphones, but then I'd hear my own voice, likely with a slight
delay, and that might make speaking more difficult. Or maybe
there's some very advanced magic that would mix the streams, mute
the audio before it reaches my headphones, but still capture it in
whatever app I'm using to do the recording? My head spins with the
possibilities.
Anyhow, wondering if anyone has done this? I've done some
research, but short of using something like OBS, which I don't
even know is accessible, I'm not sure what my available options
are. I'm not looking to stream professionally--I just want
something to capture full computer audio alongside video, and to
mix it with my voice. I also don't know that recording both
separately will work since syncing later would probably be a
challenge non-visually.
Thanks.
