OK, thanks. Is there any way to use the dialog you get when you do
control-o in firefox to type the file name?

Hello,
Firefox accepts files and urls as its command line arguments.
So it's fine to call
firefox /path/to/file.html
Or even
firefox https://whatewer.domain.tld/
As for copying parts from a terminal content I am doing one of two things:
* reading the terminal window using flat review and using orca unbound commands copy to clipboard and
append to clipboard . (of course I have bound these to my own keyboard shortcuts)
* using terminal edit menu to select all and copy to clipboard and pasting that to Gedit for further
editing.
Greetings
Peter

Hi. I have some basic questions about gnome -- using 3.30 I think.
How to get a file into the clipboard? I tried xclip -r <filename> but
nothing happened. I know this because control-shift-v did not paste
anything into the terminal window.
I would also like to know if there is a way to open a file with
firefox and actually type its name. I see things to navigate, but I
just want to be able to type the name. Can I do firefox <file name> ?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

How do
you spend it?
