Re: [orca-list] 2 big lag situations on Thunderbird 60 and Orca 3.30

I am wondering wether it is not a bad interaction with the Lightning module. I know Lightning needs to sync with a Ical schedule on the Web, and maybe it may produce this. Strange but givein what you say, I propose this. Let's go on tests...

I'm afraid I cannot reproduce this problem. I tried using a folder with
nearly 2000 messages. Looking at the debug.out provided, and searching
through the processing time Orca took to handle all events, the longest
time is less than one second.

So.... If Hypra has time to help debug the problem that would be helpful.

Hello Joanie and all,

Hypra would be OK to work on Thunderbird 60 to improve the situation if
needed.

@Joanie: Do you have look at the Jean-Philippe log to verify if it's lag
due to Orca or Thunderbird? Is there any bugs reported to Thunderbird
upstream about that?

Best regards,
Alex.

Hi,

Here is the log:
http://demo.accelibreinfo.eu/debug-2018-11-06-16:35:58.out

I would like to understand which fix should be done to fix 2 lag
situations:
1. Run orca from the terminal
2. press alt-tab to go to the Thunderbird main window
Before getting the focus ready to move, I need to wait for at least 10
seconds. The only particular thing, and probably useful for the next
lag, is that the folder where is the focus is 2000 mails. Last thing,
I use an addon, select-inbox so that at Thunderbird starting, the
focus is immediately located in the newest message of the first inbox
folder. Finally, I use Lightning as a schedule, which creates regular
lags/freeze of the focus when sync with Google Agenda and a remote
calendar.

2. Once in the folder, I press shift-tab, then Home, then down arrow
to go to the inbox folder in the tree. Orca moves the focus in a delay
of at least 30 seconds. If, due to impatience, I press the down arrow
again, when the focus is active again, it is on Dragt folder, showing
that it moves on Thunderbird, just Orca does not follow it before.
Could some fix be applied?

Best regards,
