Hi.
I'm not sure what this application is based off of. I'm trying to
run MPLabX which is an ide for pic microcontroler programing.
http://www.microchip.com/mplab/mplab-x-ide
I got it installed but it doesn't seem to be accessible as
configured now.
I suspect that this is a custom java implimentation which may
complicate matters.
Any thoughts or help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi.
It depends on the type of java application to run on your
machine.
If you plan to run GUI applications and the interface is based on
the swing API, then you need to install the java access bridge.
On the other hand, if the applications to be executed do not have
a graphical interface or if the interface is based on the swt API,
then it is not necessary to install the java access bridge.
I do not kno if java access bridge is installed in ubuntu by
default.
