Hi.

It depends on the type of java application to run on your machine.

If you plan to run GUI applications and the interface is based on the swing API, then you need to install the java access bridge.
On the other hand, if the applications to be executed do not have a graphical interface or if the interface is based on the swt API, then it is not necessary to install the java access bridge.

I do not kno if java access bridge is installed in ubuntu by default.
