Hi,
If I understand well things, on Windows, sayall is done either via
ins-down, or 0-2 on keypad. On Orca, if we deine sayall on ins-down,
à-down would work but not 0-2.
According to our feedbacks, users would like to see both keypad keys
and extended keys, when doing an orca feature via orca key, without
difference. Would it be possible?
Alternatively, could not we have, as we had a long time ago, in
Bindings tab, four columns instead of three: feature, shortcut,
alternative, the checkbox.
regards

I'm
continuing digging with this. On the default Orca configuration
the following things will change for example:
The command "Speak the title bar" will be Orca + KP_Enter or Orca
+ enter.
In other hand, the single commands like "Speak entire document"
which is KP_Add will not change because it's a single key.
To summarize: I see no side effects that could prevent to do this
change.
Do you see any issue?
Best regards,
Alex.

I've checked what happen on Windows on
both NVDA and Jaws.
I'm describing the say all behavior as an example only.
- To perform say all on Jaws you could use Caps lock, insert or
key pad insert with down arrow or down arrow from key pad
- On NVDA you can use caps lock or insert with down arrow but
you could decide assign multiple shortcuts on the same function
so it could be possible to have the same behavior as Jaws has.
What do you think? Do you see any potential break with my
proposal?
Best regards,
Alex.

Hello,
I still fail to understand this.
When NVDA is configured with desktop keyboard layout,
NVDA+DOWN arrow starts say abl and NVDA+numpad2 moves object
review to the first child object.
You can of course remap either of these keys. And you can do
the same thing with orca if you wish i.e. remapping whatever
actions to whatever shortcuts.
Greetings
Peter

So you think the + key should be used as SayAll in
Orca? That's
the key
that does that here,
Forget the single key, I'm only talking about a
combination. I don't
want to modified the current default keyboard shortcut
of Orca.
Just the behavior when defining a new shortcut that
involved two keys
when one of them is available on the keypad. If you want
to perform orca
+ enter key to read the time and date it would be
possible to use orca +
enter and orca + key pad enter without any difference.
Otherwise if you
want to have different shortcut on orca + enter and orca
+ key pad enter
it should be possible only if you define two shortcuts.
Am I now more clear?
Best regards,
Alex.
