[orca-list] Orca do not read the format in LibreOffice Calc 5.4

Hi,

As you will notice I change the subject for hopefully others can help with this.

I indeed confirm that Orca do not read the format in a cell in LibreOffice 5.4 I use in Ubuntu 17.10 with Orca 3.26.

If I copy and paste the cell in a text editor as gedit or LibreOffice Writer the format is correct.

For example I choose the currancy format and type 25 in cell A1. Orca says 25 instead of euro 25,00. After copy and paste in a text editor Orca speaks it correctly euro 25,00.

Do I have to do something in the Orca settings? Thanks in advance.

I notice what you describe also in 5.4.2.2 but I use the version in Ubuntu 16.04 where the format works correct.

Hi Milton,
The cell is already in correct date format. Now I want Orca to read the date in it's formatted form.
Ex, Sunday, 29 January 2018.
Instead of 01/29/2018

Hi,

You can quickly set the right format by richt cklicking on the cell and arrow down to cell format and press Enter.

You will then get a list, arrow down to date and press Tab and arrow down to chose your prefered setting. Success.

Hi Group,

I have a cell with date format. It should have read "day of the week, date, month and year" But I only hear, ex, 1/28/2018.
Is there a way so I can have Orca says the formatted date?

Best Regards
