[orca-list] Distored speech on ubuntu 16.04 using shipping version of Orca and Espeak

Hi everyone

I am running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS in a VM at the moment, and am finding that 
Espeak frequently becomes distorted while speaking. A great deal of 
static builds up behind the voice and then disappears again. This only 
happens in the VM, not with Espeak under NVDA. I am beginning to wonder 
if it is related to the third party tools the installer suggested I 
install when I initially installed tthe OS?

Thank you for any advice/help. I really want to become familiar with 
Linux and this list is invaluable.
