Hi all This is the fourth or fifth time I’ve tried to install antergos 18.02. The live image works fine, but the installed system will not speak. Running spd-conf doesn’t fix the issue, speech dispatcher doesn’t speak, even when running spd-say hi. Running espeak hi results in speech. Can someone else confirm this bug by downloading antergos from www.antergos.com and installing it? I do not believe this is an orca bug, but it might be either a speech dispatcher or a security issue of some sort. Orca successfully starts, I can open the preferences but there’s no speech. I’m desperate to upgrade to mate 1.20 and finally ditch windows, which I’ve been forced to use to have a system to send emails from and troubleshoot. I could always use Ubuntu mate, but Ubuntu mate’s version of mate has some non standard indicators which seem to make the mate panel less accessible. Not inaccessible, just a little bit less accessible. I don’t mean to sound so frustrated but this issue is driving me nuts. I can’t pin it down. Thanks Kendell Clark Sent from Mail for Windows 10 |
