gives more info about the issue.
Some additional info on my orca issue.
when trying to run orca -t i get the following.
root@raspberrypi:/home/pi# orca -t
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
** (orca:5583): ERROR **: AT-SPI: Couldn't connect to
accessibility bus. Is at-spi-bus-launcher running?
Trace/breakpoint trap
If i run spd-conf i get the following. This isn't the complete
log, just a snip.
Testing Speech Dispatcher using spd_say Failed to connect to
Speech Dispatcher:
Error: Can't connect to unix socket
/root/.cache/speech-dispatcher/speechd.sock: No such file or
directory. Autospawn: A
utospawn failed. Speech Dispatcher refused to start with error
code, stating this as a reason:
Can't execute the spd-say binary, it is very likely that
Speech Dispatcher is not installed.
Speech Dispatcher isn't running or we can't connect to it (see
above),
Apt-get install speech-dispatcher tells me everything is
installed.

- plug in your speaker/headphone in 3.5mm Raspberry audio
jack
- run the following command:
- espeak "wonderful" # you may need to install espeak
package if not there already
- If you hear espeak speaking then audio is working fine
