I just checked, assuming the the package actually come from Ubuntu, the path to the voices can be one of
these, depending on the synthesizer (espeak or espak-ng):
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/espeak-ng-data/
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/espeak-data/
But the lists of file do not include a file named:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/espeak-ng-data/default
or
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/espeak-data/default
as shown in
https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/amd64/espeak-ng-data/filelist
and:
https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/amd64/espeak-data/filelist
I assume that the default file found in Vinux was added by them, to allow setting the default synthesis
voice, which is not directly possible in speech-dispatcher proper.
But all is not lost, you've got two ways at least to set a Czech voice.
If you use Orca, go in the preferences => Voices tab and in the drop Down Person control, select Czch (cs)
In speech-dispatcher proper, you can't choose the synthesis voice directly but there is only one for the
Czech langauge, so type in a terminal the command:
spd-conf
To this question:
Default language (two-letter iso language code like "en" or "cs") [en] :
just answer:
cs

Didier

PS I have in my TODO list to bring the possibility to set the default voice at the user level in
speech-dispatcher, probably enhancing spd-conf, stay tuned but don't hold your breath.

Hello.
I have got the following problem with SoundRTS 1.2a11 in Accessible Coconut 18.04.04.
If I launch it, it works, but it speaks only loading, welcome and from menu something. Observe a recorded
game and manual. Please, how to have Espeak Czech in this? In Vinux it was enough to change en to cs in
/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/espeak-data/voices/default. But what to do there, in x86_64 architecture? Is some
way to play SoundRTS in AC?
Thanks.
Best regards
Vojta.
