Hi Andy,

You can use the Thunderbird calendar to manage your tasks and dates. The 
lightning extension has been improved in the last year to be usable with 
Orca.
You could be able to :
- create tasks
- create events
- check your events for a specific day
- check the events for the next days and weeks
