I had a look at the Mate versionand found that they finally managed to
get the login screen talking. Though the live system had a
fully-accessible desktop, the installed system did not. File manager
windows were invisible to Orca. If, as you say, Canonical has heavily
patched GNOME, one imagines that the Ubuntu-Mate folks have done so with
Mate, as well. In what ways has Canonical modified GNOME?
