Yes, braillesense is compatible. But Pacmate never managed to do
anything here
Hi,
In Trisquel 8.0, (it has packages from Ubuntu 16.04), I found
that, once I enabled the service called brltty-udev, I got
braille from a braillesense once orca was activated in my user
session. I had to install the brltty package, first; Ubuntu may
not include it on the default installation.
In Ubuntu, it's just
sudo apt update
then
sudo apt install brltty
Once installed, do:
sudo systemctl enable brltty
sudo systemctl enable brltty-udev.
You'll get braille on next reboot.
HTH,
Dave

Hi,
The braille connectivit depends mainly on brltty, which
contains all the needed drivers. Orca has no role in this
stuff.
FOr your specific question, I am afraid it just does not
work. I have never been able to make such hardware work on
brltty. I think so few users used it and requested for
support. You may ask on brltty mailing list if someone could
help to code the driver, with you in backend to test the
results.

I use Ubuntu 16.04 and Orca 3.20.3. I
need to connect a PACMATE 20 braille display and use it in
Ubuntu. I turned on braille support and connected my
display. Unfortunately, there isn’t any output. What
should be done to fix this problem?
