Re: [orca-list] trisquel and software?

Trisquel is designed to run free (as in meets FSF guidelines) software, only.  This means, noone in the community will help with or support the use of non-free device drivers, such as the Intel Wifi chipset, or applications that won't meet the guidelines; this includes Adobe Flash, and, maybe Telegram, but I'm not positive on this one.  The Atheros 9000 wifi chipset works with Trisquel; if you need something else, I suggest Debiamn, with the non-free and contrib repos enabled.

For its desktop, Trisquel 7 uses a modified version of GNOME Fallback 3.10 (taken from Ubuntu 14.04. I find it one of the most accessible and performant de I've used.  The current orca is 3.12; you'd want to add the accessibility ppa to get later orca and dependencies.

Trisquel 8 is in pre-release, and has Mate 1.12 and orca 3.18 (taken from Ubuntu 16.04).  To try Trisquel 8, Go and grab the live image.
