Manjaro's updates tend to come down weekly, so it's not unheard of to 
have many packages updated all at once. Updating the system every day 
usually doesn't help much unfortunately. Additionally, there was a day 
not that long ago when nearly 200 packages were updated on Arch systems 
in one day, which also accounts for some of the large numbers of 
updates. It doesn't happen often on Arch, but it happens more often on 
Manjaro due to the weekly updates.
