Great work so far. Running latest mate-gtk3 packages in Arch, it sucks 
less for me as well, especially when launching an application from the 
menu system. I still get chattiness when tabbing around the top panel, 
especially it seems as I hit the clock/calendar and as I enter the 
notification tray. Most notably, in these cases, I'm hearing: "Top 
Expanded Edge Panel frame: Top Expanded Edge Panel  panel: panel," which 
now that I go through it several times for testing purposes, appears to 
be occurring not necessarily when hitting the calendar and the 
notification tray, but when I enter and leave the notification tray. 
Overall, this is a huge improvement, as I am no longer hearing all the 
stuff I used to hear when launching applications, so what's left that I 
mention here is really quite minor. Thanks again for tracking this one down.
