Yes, I had to patch it to work when I recently built two systems. I
referenced the patch from another list member a number of posts back.
Thanks a ton to them for the patch btw, it works wonderfully.

Sounds like you were using the lightdm GTK greeter. I think it has to be
explicitly built with accessibility support enabled. Having said that, I
haven't checked to see if it works well enough with Orca yet, and if not, I
should really see about fixing that.
