[orca-list] starting out with ubuntu

    Hi all,

I'm sure this comes up a lot, but here goes.

I'm just starting off with Ubuntu/orca, although I've dabbled in unix 
systems in the past.

I'm just wondering if there are any central resources for getting 
started with this configuration?

Also, a more specific question here: coming from a windows background 
primarily, is there anything similar to a start menu that has 
shutdown/system prefferences etc.

I've seen refferences to it, but can't seem to access it with orca, even 
though alt-f1 brings up the launcher.
