The reason for that is capslock state is incorrectly captured and even more incorrectly preserved by the open application. You could try closing the offending application then restarting the offending application and see f the capslock state is on. If the capslock state is on, then it's mate or gnome that's doing all of this. In any of these cases these need bugs filed. If it is the operating system you'll need to reboot to clear those capslock memory states and that would not be good. I don't normally run into this situation since I run one app at a time since I know I do not multitask well at all. Hi, it did work but, then if i move to other applications, and then went back to it, the caps lock will start to turn on again. like this, normally, when orca key is set at caps lock, what ever keys you press will be intercept by orca, but this time on fedora 25 that i amrunning here with orca 3.22.2, orca did see the key and react to it but at the same time, the caps lock get toggle. for example, now my caps lock is off, if i press orca key and t to know the time, AND THEN I TYPED, MY CAPS LOCK WILL BE ON. THEN LET SAY I PRESS ORCA KEY PLUS SLASH TO KNOW THE TITLE OF THE APPLICATION, and now it is off. this is using orca laptop mode, being the caps lock set as the orca key. thanks 2017-04-14 3:56 GMT+08:00, Jude dDaShiell <jdashiel panix com>: Here is how to turn off capslock when you want capslock off.
