Hello, all!
Getting braille display support in Trisquel 8 seemed to be easy. 7 is
the still-current release, and proving to be harder to get set up. I
installed and enabled the brltty service (there is no brltty-udev in
7). Orca's braille settings were on, and the unit was in its "terminal
mode", the correct setting for this application. After I logged into
the user session, I had braille support for a while. Now, however, the
display is stuck saying "terminal mode", and I cannot get the unit back
to its main menu. With the power on, or off, the display is stuck. Some
strange control sequence must have gone down the usb line? I cannot
even get to the unit's in-built help to find how to reset.
I know that Vinux (also with packages taken from Ubuntu 14.04, has this
working on its live medium; I'm missing something. Trisquel 8 got me
spoiled. LOL.
Any ideas?
Dave H.
