[orca-list] Xfconf-query returns Errors

I attempted to turn on A11Y in XFCE via this command:
xfconf-query -c xfce4-session -p StartAssistiveTechnologies
However, it returned this error:
Failed to init libxfconf: Unable to autolaunch a dbus-daemon without a $DISPLAY
I thought, though, that
startx
would set $DISPLAY
from
/usr/bin/startx
defaultdisplay=":0"
Anybody can shed light on this error?
