Interesting, the package in official Arch-Linux repo depends on QT4.

The version is 2.2.4-5
which appears to be latest, i2.2.4 is shown as latest release for windows on the vlc website as an example,
will have tyo look and see what I have
installed on other hardware and OSs, nothing but Arch is installed on this machine.
