Hello,
I'm not sure if you can currently do what you want on Linux with pdff
files. Since pdf will be a part of my life if I attend school in a few
months I have a windows machine. The last time I tried reading pdf files
on Linux I was able to read the document fine. However, if the document
had markups to navigate threw chapters the focus would not change. I
think a few others have reported this as well. Whats important now
though is that you can read pdf files with Orca in Linux. This will
probably be worked on at some point.
there are utilities to convert files to text, but then you lose the
formatting off the document.
Alternatively you can read the document in Firefox. How well this works
I can not recall off hand. I tried it a few times and I seem to
remember that it would not keep my place in the window if I moved my
focus to another application.

Is adobe reader 9.x even usable with orca?
I installed the acro read package from the arch linux AUR, and can read nothing. Is there a setting to enable
accessibility, or is this program no longer
an option for Orca users?
