It should be, and often it is. However, as I remember from the BRLTTY list,
there have been problems with some versions of the Alva BC640 firmware.

My advice would  be to try to use it first at the Linux console with BRLTTY.
If this fails, write to the BRLTTY mailing list. Once BRLTTY is working
properly with the display, Orca should be able to support it, since Orca uses
BRLTTY to control the display.
