Re: [orca-list] how to get alva bc640 to work?

hi
I don't know much about braille displays but I know that one is
supported by brltty. Shouldn't it just be plug and play? Brltty is
configured by default to autodetect the display and use the right
driver. It's possible, I don't know for sure, but it's possible that the
version of brltty in ubuntu 14.04 doesn't have a driver for that display
but I don't think that's it. Has this user turned braille on in orca's
braille settings? I'm pretty sure it is by default, but I'm not
positive. Failing that, brltty might not be starting when your system
starts. In that case, open a terminal by pressing alt+control+t and
type, sudo systemctl enable brltty. Type in your password, then reboot.
It should work now. Luke knows a lot more about ubuntu than I do so I'll
let him chime in with anything further. I'm an arch guy and don't want
to give bad advice.
Thanks
