Re: [orca-list] another little issue with newest lo

Hi Michał.

If you are able to test earlier versions of LibreOffice so you can
provide when the change occurred, that would be helpful.

As for how to be sure you really, really have the newest master: Clone
it from git.gnome.org. In some cases, like with the big commit I just
made, there are presentation changes which should make it obvious (like
the fact that when you copy or cut selected text, Orca now announces
that you have copied/cut to the clipboard). However, unless the repo you
are using updates constantly, there is always the potential that I will
commit a change to fix an issue that won't be in your repo until the
next update.

Yes, it happens now. I am almost sure it did not happen with older
libreoffice, but it had other severe performance problems. The thing
now, before sending a debug log, is: how to make sure I really, really
have the newest orca master?

Hi Michał.

Ok. Does the problem occur with earlier versions of LibreOffice, or
is it limited to just the newest version?

As for old master or not, I couldn't tell you as I use Fedora. But
hopefully they are not over a month behind. That said, as I just
announced, I just committed a major refactor + features related to
text events, including selection. I don't know if those changes
will fix whatever you are experiencing or not, but it will be
helpful if you could try.

Lastly, if you try the latest (as in just now) master and still
experience the problem, please email me a full debug.out
privately, along with the version number of LO and whether or not
the problem happens for you in older versions of LO.

Thanks! --joanie

Hi Michał.

I thought I fixed that a month ago. Are you testing with
master?

Hello.

I have another nice issue with newest libreofice. I open a
writer document full of text, but not long enough to cause
long loading, I mean an article. I do select all (ctrl+a) and
then the orca actually starts going through all the text top
to bottom like I was pressing shift+arrows to select it. Can
anyone confirm? Please do not try to do tat on a really large
document, that may be ... not nice
