Re: [orca-list] New terminal script. Please test.

Thank you so much for this. Can't wait until this is a part of Sonar.

Oh no worries, sleep well. I just figured I'd mention it before someone
else did, figuring it was another orca bug or something. This is
fantastic, I can finally play alter aeon without sometimes losing track
of what's going on lol.
Thanks

Hey Kendell.

Thanks for testing. Regarding reading the entire line plus the output,
I'll see if I can tweak the heuristic. I need to take a nap first, but
later today....

This is much much better. Terminals that use vte 3.x, like mate terminal
if built with gtk3 and gnome-terminal no longer skip or fail to read
incoming stuff that I can tell, and I tested with alter aeon, a text
based game that can give you a ton of output all at once to dig
through. Terminals that use vte 2.x don't skip, but what I've noticed is
that when you're typing a command, such as ls, and then press enter,
orca will read the entire line plus the output. So you'd get, for
example kendell@tigger ~$ls. Audio books music videos ... etc etc.
That's not a complaint though, it's a lot better than not reading at all.
Thanks

Hey Kendell.

There is a heuristic hack in place now to try to work around VTE not
giving us the correct information when text is inserted. Hopefully that
will also solve what you're seeing in vte 2.x. Let me know either way.

Thanks!

I'll get right on it. Could this new script possibly fix the issue of
orca not presenting text or cutting off the first letter of the first
word of the text in terminals which use vte 2.x? Don't worry I'll test
for myself, just curious.
Thanks

Hey all.

I've just committed a new script for accessible terminal objects. It
should work with terminals Orca can see, and not require special mapping
for applications. Notes:

1. You should do a clean build, autogen, etc.

2. KDE's Konsole, at least for me in Fedora 24, is not an accessible
terminal. The rest of the app shows up in Accerciser; the terminal
object does not. If Orca cannot see it, Orca cannot present it.

3. I've fixed a couple of Orca bugs, and worked around a couple of
    VTE issues, in the process.

Thanks for testing!
