Re: [orca-list] Ctrl+Alt+Del in Fedora 24/Gnome 3.20

hi
I believe they use the gnome panel. Under the user menu, there's a power
off button. However, pressing that just brings up the same dialog you
get when you press ctrl+alt+del so either way that dialog needs to be
fixed. I'm sorry I dropped the ball, I really should've filed that bug a
while ago, but so many things to do, so little time. I'll comment on it
after a nap though. I'm exhausted, and it's nearly 10 AM my time.
Thanks
Kendell Clark

Thanks Joanie.

That bug is confusing as I never actually see a 2nd occurrance of the
dialog - though you are right in that if you press it by mistake and
you don't want to power off... you are in trouble as there's no way
out - you can't even use Orca's flat review to simulate a mouse click.

Out of interest, how do people power off or restart their systems? I
found the Ctrl+Alt+Del way by far the easiest.
Do people set up custom keystrokes? Or do people just use the Gnome
panel.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick.

No, this is not an Orca issue. To be honest, I don't use Ctrl+Alt+Del
any more so I hadn't noticed. I've just commented on the bug to indicate
the stated issue has significant accessibility implications:

Thanks Jose.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about it on here if it's
affecting everyone who uses Gnome 3.20.

Or maybe nobody uses Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart or power off anymore?

Does anyone know which Gnome component I should be logging a bug
against? Or is this an Orca issue?

Thanks,

Nick

Thanks.

Hi all,

In Fedora 22/23, with Gnome 3.16/3.18, pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del would
bring up a
screen with either Restart or Power Off buttons.

I've just upgraded to Fedora 24 with Gnome 3.20, and now pressing
Ctrl+Alt+Del
just seems to power off the system after 60 seconds.

The window appears, but Orca can't seem to navigate around it. If I
use flat
review I can read the count down timer, but no keyboard input seems
to work,
and there seems to be no way to cancel the window.

Are there any other Fedora users out there who could confirm what
behaviour
they are seeing?

Thanks,

Nick
