Re: [orca-list] orca performance oddity

Hey Kendell.

If when this problem occurs you leave Orca running but quit seamonkey,
does Orca go back to more reasonable amounts?

hi all
While using orca throughout the day today, I've noticed an odd thing.
When I first start up my computer, orca's memory usage is around a
couple of mb. But as the day goes on, the memory usage gradually creeps
upward. Right now, I've got only tux's tintin pack open, and seamonkey
open to a book. Orca's memory usage is 107 mb. It's the second highest
memory consumer of my open apps, second only to seamonkey. I don't know
much about how orca works, but is that normal? Could there be a memory
leak or two causing orca to use that much memory? While I'm on the
subject, orca usually uses anywhere from 1 to 2 percent of my cpu, which
is the average, but as of now, just using seamonkey to both read and
write this, orca is using 16 percent of my cpu. Has anyone else noticed
high memory or cpu usage stats when running orca? Especially if you're
not using a spammy application that floods orca with events? This is
orca master, up to date as of ten minutes ago. After joanie's last
couple of commits orca's performance has gotten even faster, and it was
very fast before.
Thanks
Kendell Clark
