Re: [orca-list] Eclipse is getting even worse

Hi,

Josê: this really makes a difference: looks like they don't use the
VM setting -DSWT_GTK3 anymore. Instead we have to export it to the
unix env or pass it in to the launcher as you suggested.
If i use the launcher.gtk_version parameter as you described i can
read the editors in mars and neon again! Same is true if i export
SWT_GTK3 before launching eclipse.
Well, orca doesn't load the eclipse scripts, but i think this is due
to the fact it doesn't recognize eclipse. Instead it reads "SWT" as
the title for example. But ok, thats a minor issue. I believe i can
adjust the scripts just for SWT applications..

I'll write a comment about this to the bug. Thanks for the suggestion!

Regards Jann!

Hi, could you try the following to check if makes some difference?

Include in the eclipse.ini file the following 2 lines:
--launcher.GTK_version
2

The 2 lines must be included before the following line:
--launcher.appendVmargs

Thanks.

Hi

to force GTK2 instead of GTK3 i use the system setting SWT_GTK3=0
You can set this by:
- adding it to the end of the eclipse.ini file: -DSWT_GTK3=0
- passing it to eclipse as launch parameter (if you launch from a
terminal)
- or just export it

Hi.
I tried to vote in the bugs that affects me.

What did you use to forces GTK2?

I included in the eclipse.ini file the following 2 lines:
--launcher.GTK_version
2

The 2 lines were included before the following line:
--launcher.appendVmargs

Can you test?
Thanks.

Hi all.
This is confirmed.

My suggestion is that we vote for this bug in the bugzilla page
for
this bug.
Probably they try to fix if the bug get a lot of votes.
Thanks.

Hi All!

as a followup on the previous mails concerning eclipse mars: i've
just
tested the M1 package of it (4.5.1). Looks like the setting that
forces GTK2 doesn't work anymore. Well, this was just a poor
workaround that made Eclipse partly accessible but not as good as
before, but anyway it doesn't work for me anymore.
Could some of you please test it and report your experiences to the
according bug {1} too?
Thanks in advance.
